Nothing To See Here is a guide to the unusual places in Scotland overlooked by glossy brochures and coach parties. It all started on the B8476, a lonely, bypassed old road in Perthshire with a glorious past. The Fortingall Yew, a 5000-year-old yew tree – reported to be Europe’s oldest living thing – clinched it. The strange glee of finding this remarkable thing hidden away in a quiet Perthshire churchyard, with the minimum of fuss – no expensive car park, no gift shop selling souvenirs, no nothing – suggested that searching out and celebrating these amazing hidden places would be a project that could go somewhere.
